This is one headfucker of a grind/noise album. Kanagawa, Japan’s Gore Beyond Necropsy is one of those grind bands. They formed in 1989, they’ve put out 5 million different 7”s and split EPs, and they’re getting weirder as they get older.
Noise-A-Go-Go! is the band’s 1998 LP for Relapse. It’s 59 tracks that push the boundaries of what grind can do. There are blastbeats and harsh vocals aplenty but there’s also some bizarre instrumentation and noise, the way only the Japanese can do it. Comparisons can be made to Catasexual Urge Motivation and later-period Insect Warfare; when they went way overboard with the noise stuff. That’s really the best way to describe this weird-ass album. Beware!
