Discordance Axis – The Inalienable Dreamless

Discordance Axis
The Inalienable Dreamless
Hydra Head

The Inalienable Dreamless is the masterpiece LP from grind-killers Discordance Axis. They now stand as one of the most complex and original grindcore bands to ever exist. Even back then, people knew Discordance Axis was something special.

The Inalienable Dreamless is one of the densest grind records. There is so much going on in a very short space. That is a ton of music crammed into 23 minutes. Guitarist Rob Marton’s adventurous guitar playing is one of the signatures of this unique band. Drum master Dave Witte sounds amazing on this record. It’s one of his best performances. Vocalist Jon Chang, currently in Gridlink, made being a grind frontman an art form. JR Hayes of Pig Destroyer has certainly taken cues from him. Hell, everyone should. Over the years, I’ve even grown to love that ridiculous DVD case. This is a watermark album by which others are measured.
