Kylesa – Time Will Fuse Its Worth

Kylesa
Time Will Fuse Its Worth
Prosthetic/Havoc

Where is the line between stoner and sludge? Kylesa will report back when they find it. Time Will Fuse Its Worth is too high-energy to be a stoner record but, man, does it have a groove. It’s not a Sabbath-groove, a Pantera-groove nor any other variation. It’s just a groove and Kylesa has it too spare.

A veteran band, this is Kylesa’s third LP, not counting EPs or material released in the band’s previous incarnation Damad. It’s no accident that Kylesa is a good. Not many bands can pull off progressive-but-not-prog and spacey-but-not-hippie.

While still incorporating the usual Kylesa hallmarks like adventurous guitars and multiple vocalists, Time Will Fuse Its Worth is the first album to feature the band’s second drummer. It sounds like a gimmick but the two drummers elevate Kylesa above its Savannah/SCaD peers. For a potentially silly idea, Kylesa pulled it off. Check out “Intermission” for two rocking-ass drummers in action. This album rules. You need it. Recommended for fans of reefer and originality.
